Future Sound is one of the most exciting finds this year: a great blend of dreamy electro beats and hip hop vocals. The two tracks above are off his debut EP The Thrills which is up on bandcamp. The guy behind Future Sound is 19-year old Florida resident Bradley Petit-Frere:
What’s the last thing you ate?
Santa Barbara burger from Elephant Bar. Fucking amazing. Unicorn like.
How old are you? Where are you from?
19 years old and I was born in Washington D.C. But now I’m living in Florida, not far from the beach and calm breeze.
Would you like to live anywhere else?
Well, I’d like to live in Europe. Just so I could perform every other day and smoke cigarettes with girls and their hot accents.
When did you start making music?
I started around 9 years old. So ever since I was a young lad. Long before MTV went to shit.
What does your recording process look like?
My studio sessions are 98% of the time at night. I’m usually surrounded by Christmas lights. I literally drown myself in the music and rap/dance my little heart out. Pretty intense.
What are major influences to your sound?
Michael Jackson, Prince, John Lennon, Pharrell Williams, Kate Moss, Marilyn Monroe, Groovy Nights, Sex, light drugs…haha
Are you approaching your music more from the rap or the electronic side? I really like The Thrills because it’s just the perfect mix of both actually. Usually songs that try to do that suck..
Thanks! Well, i’m trying to make a perfect blend of the two. So it doesn’t sound like rap going electronic, nor electronic going rap. I don’t know, maybe I should try and create a new genre.

Yeah I have a couple. Just to show my face in the scene again. But summer is when the shows will get heavy.
